Another post from the past. Two targets from my Bortle seven backyard. Given all the light pollution, I used the Radian Triad Ultra filter which really performed well.
The video pretty much covers everything from gear, acquisition, and post-processing. Very rewarding targets worth the work.
One detail that I didn’t cover in the video was, the stars are slightly elongated towards the edges of the image. It wasn’t until much later that I discovered the root cause. I had tried several adjustments to guiding, focus, and polar alignment but it wasn’t’ until a fellow astrophotography suggested checking the back focus. Problem solved so I’ll have to revisit these another day. Back focus matters.
